Seeking to help its members expand on their skills even during the pandemic, the Croatian Sommelier Association organized an introductory sommelier course in Italian. The ties between Croatia and Italy are many — besides sitting across from one another on the Adriatic Sea, the two countries share a long history of trade and politics, especially in the Istrian peninsula near Trieste. The two countries also share a long winegrowing tradition as well!
The course will be conducted with the support of the Italian community of Novigrad, a town in Istria. The instructors will include Sandi Paris, one of Croatia’s best sommeliers, as well as well-regarded winemakers Moreno Degrassi and Sergio Nesich.
